While only five minutes to dowtown Quesnel, the property is very private and includes over 2km of low, river-front beach. Vegetables were grown here for Barkerville in the "Gold Rush" era of the mid-1800's. There was a small community located here at that time including a school and other services on the farm. Today, the farm has approximately 20 acres remaining in vegetable garden area, approximately 110 acres in alfalfa (+/- 70 acres irrigated using well water), with the remainder in pasture.
