Amazing Mixed Farm Business

This truly amazing business opportunity is available now in Quesnel, BC, Canada. Situated on the banks of the mighty Fraser River, with over 2km of low, river-front beach, this 278 acre farm is one of the oldest and most beautiful established operations in the area.

While only five minutes to dowtown Quesnel, the property is very private and includes over 2km of low, river-front beach. Vegetables were grown here for Barkerville in the "Gold Rush" era of the mid-1800's. There was a small community located here at that time including a school and other services on the farm. Today, the farm has approximately 20 acres remaining in vegetable garden area, approximately 110 acres in alfalfa (+/- 70 acres irrigated using well water), with the remainder in pasture.

The farm has three homes: one 3600 sq. ft. executive home, with 4 bedrooms, 3 baths, and an amazing field and river view, and two rentals (one 3 bedroom/1 bath and one studio with loft).

Even though our last year of vegetable sales was last summer, the infrastructure and equipment remains. There is:

  • a well known store with a large walk in cooler for Farm Gate Sales
  • a large hayshed combined with a large corral network complete with shelters and heated stock waters used for cattle or horses
  • a heated farm shop and other outbuildings as well as pens for chickens and pigs
  • another outbuilding with a walk in cooler and a walk in freezer

The grounds are kept clean and neat and in good repair.

Riding on the farm for sale in Quesnel, BC, Canada

Irrigation is easy with one 9-span automatic pivot and two hose reels. The micro climate along the river allows for fruit trees, berries and vegetable crops normally not grown in the Cariboo region.

All the hay fields have been re-seeded in the last couple of years. For increased production another 50 acres of flat ground pasture could be planted into alfalfa or other harvestable forage.

We are willing to let much of the equipment go with the farm if necessary. This includes vegetable and hay equipment.
